How do you pay for your newspaper? Here there is a 6%
tax if you buy it at the store, or if you buy it by
delivery. However, at a vending machine, or bought from
a street vendor, there is no tax.

Am I correct in assuming if a resident of another state buys a
car there, they still get socked with a sales tax somehow?

I think your own state will probably tax you when you register it.
However, on things like large appliances, if you don't have them
delivered, you are home free.

Of course, I'd need any REALLY large item delivered. I'll try
to keep that in mind for smaller (but expensive) things, though.
