Well, I dood it. I was planning on getting a Class "C" motorhome before I
got into all of this physical trouble. Now I'll have to put it off for a
year it looks like.
A few weeks ago another town West of us had an unmarked Ford Mustang GT
donated to the Police Department for traffic control and other stuff the
Police do..
In the paper there was a big spread about it and a little paragraph in which
our Chief of Polices was asked if he would like one. Well, he sounded like
he was panting like a lizard when he talked about it. I guess he wanted
one.
Our City is exploding in size with a lot of folks moving here from Chicago
to live in the country but keep their jobs there.
I thought about the motorhome and decided that it would have to wait on how
I came out of this mess I'm in and decided to buy our Police Dept. two
unmarked cars with all the bells and whistles. I called the Chief to check
on the legality and he said, after a long breathless pause, no problem.
So we met last two Mondays ago and I gave him the check.
He came to my house but I wasn't home and then he called me Friday and told
me he got a Mustang GT and a Dodge Charger. Both Black and unmarked with
all the bells and whistles. The Dodge is being built at the factory and
comes with a Police Package, whatever that is. The Mustang is now road
ready.
I was invited to make the presentation of the Mustang to the Police
Department but, you guessed it, I have medical tests starting Wed. and going
until Heaven knows when.
I'll think about the motorhome when I'm sure I can handle it.
This gives me great joy in doing such a thing.
Oh, I have sworn the folks who know of this that it is anonymous. You
folks, my second family, are the only others who know.

already knew that.

What a wonderful gift to your town Don. I sure wish I could have seen
the Police Chief's face when you told him. I bet you'll never get
stopped for speeding again. You're a good man Charlie Brown.

I at least will keep my mouth shut except when I brag about my anonymous
friends..I dunno bout them sheepees, tho.. ;)
Well done, Don, it is tough on small communities when they get big influx of
folk to look out for and there is a long gap before the tax base rises to

Yes, just the sort of thing I was thinking of, and somewhat as Don
described. If there is one bet you can make about urban culture in general,
it is that over time demographics change!

Don, that is such a wonderful gift that fell out of the sky for the Police
Department. Your Devil is probably very upset the Angel side came out so
strong. If you ever want to upset the Devil again just give me a call as the
Mustang is a favorite car of mine. :-)
