david...
hard to believe... 43 years ago today. i think he was 46 yrs old.
certainly a young president. one of the days that will be forever
remembered by me, as was the rest of the weekend, as we sat in our
small walkup apartment, watching the world event on our little B/W tv,
wondering what it all meant. sad thoughts...

Jean B....
It's amazing how recent this all feels to me. And odd that
Leah has barely heard of Kennedy--and, of course, has no
feeling when I speak of his assassination. Even now, it makes
me sad to think of it, but it is good to keep that memory alive.

david...
Leah probably looks at the Kennedy assassination the same as you and i look
at the garfield assassination.... not in my life... old history... the
beauty is that JFK will be forever young. had he lived, he'd be approx 89
yrs old... but he will eternally be young, handsome, full of energy, and
46 forever.

Jean B....
Yes, I'm sure she does. And intellectually, I understand it
too. But viscerally it seems odd, when it is even now so raw
for me.

**Lin**...
89?!!! Boy does that make me feel old, that I can remember him as a
young man. Although at the time I didn't really think of him as young

David,

Yes, that was quite a day and the weekend that followed. I remember what I
was doing and where. My Brother and I went fishing that weekend just to get
away and contemplate what had happened and then we heard that Ruby had taken
the next step. We wondered just what was going to happen next.
I often wonder what kind of President he would have been had he lived.

mmj1...
It's hard to believe it was so long ago because I, along with many, many
others, remember exactly where I was and what I was doing.

Beth...
Yes, I remember....I was working for Morris Verger, an architect. His
office was at 3rd and Fairfax.....there was a law firm in the same office
down the hall, and the secretary told me someone shot John Kennedy...
Beth

Right, David. Exactly how I look upon it.

the way I do now as I was about 24 years younger.

Joy...
Yes, that was a sad day. It put a damper on my birthday celebration that
year. I believe the assassination was on a Thursday, and we had planned on
celebrating my birthday that weekend, since it was during the week.

I was ironing and watching daytime TV when they broke in with the news that
he had been shot. They didn't have much information at that time, and the
reporters didn't even know if he had been seriously hurt. I had to leave
then, to pick up my daughter from kindergarten. One of the teachers was out
in front of the school when I got there, and I told her what little I knew.
