Does anyone know how I can increase the text size in Opera for the
newsgroup posts?

Silly me. I thought we were going to discuss classical music.

let's do that. I'm listening to AOL radio right now. fabulous renaissance
music (my selection from many music venues...)... one nice feature is that
the album being played can, presumably, be purchased. The current album is
Stadtpfeiffer... and the best i can find is USED for $85 plus shipping...
the music is to die for, but $85 is pricey... still, I really enjoy AOL's
free radio. beautiful service to the Internet community.

Hehe. I thought that too for the first split second that I
saw the header. Then I thought about how funny that was--and

Ok thanks, but Opera just seems way too complicated.

I'm not the best person to judge that, given that it was the first time
that I tried getting newsgroups on Opera. Having said that, I managed to
make 'newsgroups' vanish and it took me a fair old time to recover the
damage.
Opera is a browser and that's what it's really good at. If you don't want
to use a standalone news reader (for whatever reason) SeaMonkey
(Mozilla) is neat, as is Thunderbird (From the Firefox stable)
DS Kirk can fill you in with the best of the Windows newsreaders.

you're very kind, mick... :) actually, Opera is very good at most
everything... very powerful, but it's different, so you have to learn how
it functions. one of its beauties is that you can have tabs of websites,
email and newsgroups all at the same time and toggle between them as
easily as other browsers toggle between websites. many settings and very
fast.
windows newsreaders is a big arena. I avoid the binary newsreaders,
'cause I don't tend to download pitchurs uv nekkid wimmen or cracked
software... ... xnews is it for me as it's outstanding for text
newsgroups. (I have registration for Agent 3 and have tried Agent 4 and

my apologies, joan. I sorta' thought i'd get in trouble for that.. i'm not
familiar with binary groups, having heard only of the 'alt.underwear'
categories and the 'alt.crackedsoftware' categories, but i do recall arch
and some others posting about some NGs with beautiful scenery... :)

they drive me crackers....) i think Opera is better than thunderbird and
OE for newsgroups. just my 2 cents... :)

I would be hard pressed to actually discuss it although I grew up with
classical music around me. I often watch an opera on PBS and if it is not
too heavy always enjoy it. I take spells of listening to the classical radio
station. I have CD's from Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and others who
sing light opera. I find it a nice mix to have withjazz, country and swing
as well some Rod Steward and a couple of those 'guys' you and Mick are so
keen on. In other words, I can find pleasure in most music with the
exception of hard rock.

go to aol.com . click the music button. from there click the 'launce AOL
radio button. I think there's a limited time for non-AOL members, but AOL
is now free for email addresses... you can sign up for a free AOL or AIM
email address through their screenname.aol.com or just sign up at aol.com
for a free email account. works best with IE. i don't think it works with
Firefox. however, that free email account also lets you build a free
website and a personal blog... i documented much of this on a separate
email list on yahoo.. :)

Aren't NS and AOL related now? Would that give me an edge?
Lemme go see.
Ooops. It doesn't like the pop-up blocker. Just a moment....
Oh, now it wants me to close everything. Maybe later....
Oh, but that did lead me here, not that there's anything new,
but...

how things have changed.
