parts for your diesel? then this place don't pass
chicken wings and a waitress's smile
for all of this we'd go many a mile

sweet tea or soda pop - it's hard to decide
an'you kin git chicken livers served on the side
some folks in jeans, some in sunday best
everyone eats here, it passes the taste test

just where is this mecca? can such a place be?
why, o' course, my friend, it's in tennessee
just stop in Mason, at the Longtown Cafe
folks there are friendly, they all do say "hey"

dalin and i enjoy eating off the beaten path... the business card
advertises gas, diesel, cb shop, truck supplies, chrome, sourvenirs, and
restaurant. you don't find a better down home view of rural U.S. except in
these rapidly fading places of americana... when did you last see chicken
livers listed as a side dish, along with okra and turnip greens? was a
blast and we enjoyed the experience... :)

Oh yes! I hope it doesn't go to her head and give her ideas. In
every hotel and our friends houses she used the piddle pads. Then in
front of about 30 people ..... the little goofball!

Those little towns are such fun and as you say rapidly fading places. I have
always loved having time in them wherever they are.
