Norma...
My son & his family are taking a short vacation, coming home Sunday.
So I will take care of two cats and a rabbit. My oldest g-daughter
just called to tell me the rabbit doesn't feel well. She called the
breeder who suggested it might be a hair blockage. So I have to try
and feed him papaya and if that doesn't work, get papaya tablets and
put it in his food. And could I brush him so he doesn't swallow more
fur?

Chakolate...
If he doesn't go for the papaya, try pumpkin. Same effect, different
taste.

And you should definitely consider letting him out of the cage, in a room
where he can't escape should he take the notion.

Norma...
It's a fair exchange, here. :) They take care of my two cats when I
go out of town.

The rabbit is feeling much friskier today. He ate some of the papaya.
The kids must have brushed him well before they left because I brushed
him this morning and got almost no fur from him. One of their two cats
came home yesterday evening, spent the night indoors and went out again
this morning. The other cat never came home. This is nothing unusual.
He sometimes disappears for 2 or 3 days at a time and comes home fat
and sassy.

Norma...
Thanks. I'll keep pumpkin in mind, just in case. When the girls are
home he is allowed out of his cage to play in the yard where he and the
cats get along just fine. But he likes to hop off into the brush and
woods surrounding the house and I'm not about to chase him around
outdoors. He is a very calm rabbit and doesn't get startled by loud or
sudden noises.

It's going to be a neat trick to brush him while he's in his cage,
because I am sure not going to take him out. I'm not fast enough to
catch him if he gets loose.
Ah, the things a grandmother does for love. LOL

Sue...
Ha! Be glad the rabbit isn't a diabetic.

**Dalin**...
The last time I was at the vets there was a couple there with a cat
waiting for the receptionist to bring out its diabetic supplies. I
didn't know cats and dogs could have diabetes.

Norma...
My daughter's 14 year old cat is diabetic. She checks his blood a
couple times a day and gives him insulin if needed. She holds him on
his back, leaning up against her and he is very good about having a paw
jabbed.

mmj1...
I'm sure the cats would be happy to help you catch the rabbit. Do you have a
stall shower? If so take his cage in there, get in yourself and let him out.
I'm assuming he can't hop that high. I'm only joking sort of. :-)

Jean B....
Uh, would have been better if the rabbit was well. Good lukc!
