the dog whisperer and i...

ok, so i give the TV guy some of the credit... but just a tad... i did all
the work... for past 4 weeks, the neighbors have been watching a daily
(usually twice daily) street brawl between a 200 lb man and a 7 lb terrier
puppy.... at first the puppy won every battle, but over time the old guy
began to score points.... and today i'm happy to say that the puppy (most
of the time) walks like a little lady by my side with no pressure on the
leash.... she even lets me lead the way sometimes...

that's a far cry from a couple of months ago when each walk was her 6 feet
ahead of me, straining at the leash to go faster and faster and faster...
there were times i felt i had an entry for the Iditarod.... probably lost
my chance for a victory there...

thank you, norma, but it's an ongoing challenge. every day she tests me to
see if the rules still hold... no rest for the weary... :)

i think i should have entered and won the race first - and then trained her
how to walk....
