david...
david: Hey, sweetheart, I finished painting the door... I'm just thrilled.
we're DONE! painting the door was the final step. whew! now I can relax.
and it came out really nice, don't you think?

............. long silence..........

Dalin: uh, darling man of my dreams, that's the wrong color...

............. even longer silence......

d: bummer....

Joy...
Oh, no!

david...
well, my color wasn't so bad... :) iffen the painter had been neil
diamond, the conversation wudda' gone sumthin' like this:

Neil: Hey, Dalin, I decided to paint the door a different color. How do
you like it?

Dalin: (gush, drool, pant....) Oh, Neil!!!! Oh, how creative you are.
You are just a darling painter... Oh, this looks beautiful. Uh, wouldn't
you feel more comfortable painting if you took your shirt off?...

Goromoff...
don't you just hate it when that happens?

david...
fortunately, this rarely happens... :) the last time something similar
happened was approx 40 years or so ago when we were in an apartment and
*I* decided we could save money when painting the apartment to buy paint
from a discount store... against Dalin's wishes... well, the discount
paint turned out to not be a bargain... required 4 (FOUR) coats to cover
the walls... after that, I stopped making such decisions... :)

mmj1...
Wrong color. You mean the whole kitchen or just the door?? I am assuming
(and hoping for you) it's just the door.

david...
oh, never underestimate Dalin... ... she would *never* let me paint an
entire room without proper supervision... I had finished the room, stood
for inspection, corrected all my 'mistakes', and had rested for a day or
so. Today, since there was "only the door", she focused on some other
activities in the morning, safe that I was 'only finishing the door'...
after all, how could I go wrong? anyway, it's now FINISHED and has had
proper customer signoff...
