For an hour or so I kept hearing loudspeaker announcementments from the
el station a half-block from my house, so I finally entered 'cta' into
web-searchNews, and found out that a train derailed just south of the Loop.
Nobody hurt, AFAIK, and the announcement is just about the shuttle buses,
but it's the train I took during the semester to see a student in the
Loop. That ended last Tuesday.
Shucks, there goes my chance to sue for megabucks. Poor me. ;-)

well, regardless, we're all glad that you were spared the experience. life
gives us enough challenges without having to deal with train wrecks... and
you could have been seriously hurt, or worse... we're just glad that you
weren't there... although you're much poorer for the non-experience... :)

Nonsense, you can sue for the nervous breakdown caused by the loudspeaker
announcements.

Yes I saw that on the boob tube.

Yes, I have to admit, I'd just as soon not be in a train wreck. In fact,
I was just saying to someone last week that I really don't like much
drama in my life, and that would be Major Drama.
They're saying now they think it was human error, that a switch was
flipped too soon. This is bad news for that particular human but good
news for me, since it means that there's nothing structurally wrong with
the el and as soon as the cars get upright again the line will open back
up.
