OK, I know this group doesn't talk politics, nor will I... but today I
received in postal mail the most offensive political ad I've ever seen in
my life... clearly an attempt to scare everyone... no facts, just
conjecture, no particular candidates or issues... just an appeal to avoid
an entire political party because they're all bad...
Can it be possible that everyone in a group is bad? For example, I would be
offended if someone were to say that "All AFP posters are bad" or that "all
men from Arkansas are bad", or that "all white men are bad"... but that's
the essence of the political ad I received today. they've clearly lost my
vote...

David, I know what you mena. I am now getting so blasted many phone
calls too. I can't even take a nap! It seems constant. As soon as they
start with their diatribe I just hang up. Or, to one yesterday I said I
have already voted (I did, over a week ago by mail!). They hung up. HA!
I get so tired of everybody bashing the the others. When will they all
work together for the nation? Dreaming I guess.

Guess it's about time to unplug the phones for two and a half
days.

You mean you actually got a real person? All we get are computers and
it's no fun to hang up on them. :-(

Yes, I agree. Personally I'd like for people to run on issues rather
that rhetoric and innuendo and etc..

Yes, wouldn't it be lovely if candidates would say, "This is what I believe,
and this is what I'm going to try to do about it"?

This is one of the worst years I've seen for it.... we're getting up to 10
calls a day of pre-recorded messages and I'm getting to the point of not
wanting to even get my mail out of the box.... If it works out the way I'm
seeing it now we're going to be in a lot of trouble for the next few
years.... People will vote out of fear.... What I'm watching is so
unfair....
**Lin**...

I don't want any of these people running my country. But I have to
choose one of them. And if you think this is bad and they can get
away with it, I can't wait to see what happens two years from now!

You can protest vote.... stop voting party lines....

They most probably didn't have it in the first place ...David ..

It is clear that at my house, the candidates that keep calling have also
lost our vote. As if their calls would change my mind.
Yuppers....Georgia is going through the mud slinging ads also.
I have had enough.

We in Oz do not suffer having political phone calls...There must be some law
against it !
Anyway..I have no calls from any sales pitch or anything with a 'Private'
unlisted No....

Well in the last two presidential elections I voted Libertarian. But
they don't have any local candidates on the ballot. I used to vote
party lines because I though the candidate was supposed to follow the
party platform, but they don't do that anymore. The party seems to
follow the ideals of the person who is elected. That's not right
either.

Wasen't there a time when we voted for the best person to do the job.... I
always thought that was what we were founded on.... now it seems we flounder
on it.... These parties bring along the one they think will do the best for
them.... it used to be "of the people" now its "of the party"

That's it in a nutshell.

Or write in 'Mickey Mouse' or 'Dave Barry'.

I used to think that was the answer. But, in my opinion, very, VERY,

Nowadays it seems that we have to vote for the "least worst". :-(
Nobody wants to tell you why you should vote for them. They just want to
tell you how band the other buy, or the other party, is.

Of course not all my mail is like that. I've gotten several very helpful
mailings from people who are afraid I can't figure out how to vote for
myself, so they very kindly have sent me a list of who and what to vote for.
That way I don't have to bother to think at all. Except I have to choose
which one of them to use.

few ( of either party) inspire ANY confidence that they WILL do
anything to inprove things in government.
