Can legs shrink?

**Lin**...
I know as we get older the bones in our neck or back can compress
making you an inch or so shorter but what about legs?

I used to wear an average length in slacks. Then I started wearing a
petite length. Today I bought four pair of slacks and even the
petites are a little too long. And these were not expensive slacks,
they were Kmart slacks to wear around the house this winter.

Maybe I'll have to start buying men's slacks so I can get the right
length!

Chakolate...
Wouldn't it be great if women's slacks were sold by waist and inseam like
men's? (And if women's slacks *always* had pockets, like men's do?)

Sue...
Now, that is scary!

It sure was! I had my ticket in the carry-on, because it wouldn't fit in
the purse, but I couldn't have gone anywhere without my passport, money or
credit card. I was soooo lucky!
I carry a purse, but I don't want to have to dig in it if I need a pen or a
hankie. The pockets are also handy for a ticket I will need right away, a
shopping list and other such things.
And if there was free/cheap tailoring for women. Do the
stores still hem pants for men?

Beth...
Don't know about legs, but waists NEVER shrink. :(

High Miles...
Slacks were never long enough for me, and I had to wear men's
Levi's in high school....................yes............they made them back
then.
After years of writing complaint letters to clothing manufacturers,
I was delighted when they came out with talls. But then the
crotch was halfway down to my knees.
Needing 34" length with moccasins and 36" with boots, I'm
still better off with the guy's jeans.

**Lin**...
You do have long legs! Seems like guy's jeans would be perfect for
you. I've seen women wearing them though who don't fit in them well.
We do have bigger bottoms than men and often larger thighs. Beats me
why they can't make women's jeans by waist and length too, allowing a
little extra material in hips and thighs. I don't have that problem
but so many women do and it's not really a problem, just that we are
built differently.
Somebody was sure watching over you that day! I do think most people
are honest though. I can recall three incidences where I left my
purse in a gymnasium where hundreds of people were walking in and out
and it was sitting on the bleacher when I walked back to look for it,
when David left his wallet on top of the car at a gas station and
drove off with the wallet falling on the ground and when our son was
changing clothes in a dressing room and his wallet fell out of his
pants. In the last two incidences we received a phone call from the
person who had picked it up and they were returned to us. In the last
two incidences a reward was also refused.

Jean B....
That too. I carry a purse about 2 times per year. Oh, I also
drop them, because I forget I have one.

**Lin**...
Wow Jean! Where do you carry everything then? The check book, the
tissues, the keys, the lipstick, the comb, the glasses, the money, the
charge card, the mini flashlight, the car remote entry clicker, the
cell phone, your wallet with ID, etc, etc. etc.

Sue...
You know....come to think of it....I have left my purse in the basket, in
the parking lot, in Walmat. Drove off to another store.
Stopped.....couldn't find my purse. Sped back to Walmart and there it
was.....still sitting in the basket.
Not that there was anything of value in it. LOL

Joy...
I sometimes stop by a market on my way home from my Toastmasters meeting.
This is usually around 9:30 or a little later. This particular market keeps
the baskets outside. A couple weeks ago, when I got a basket inside, I
found a wallet with keys attached. I gave it to one of the clerks, and he
said he thought he knew who it belonged to.

**Lin**...
I like to think most people are honest and yet I think if I found a
wallet I would not give it to a clerk but look inside for ID and call
the person directly.

Joy...
My thought was that with the keys attached, the person would probably come
back to look for it.

Jean B....
That was my thought too.
I agree. I also think most people are honest. The ones who aren't are
usually the ones we hear about, so sometimes we forget that.
My sister doesn't carry a purse. I don't know how she does it!
That's for sure! In fact - never mind. ;-)
