Paco...
Limiting coffee consumption has changed my life. I used to drink a lot
of it. Now I only have a little during the morning only and if I ever
want coffee again, during the day, I have decaffeinated.

Now I sleep very well and feel very calm during the day. I wonder if I
had limited my coffee earlier in my life I may not have needed to go on
psych meds. I really mean that.

I know, you may say you are ok with the coffee that you take in. But I
say different people are affected differently by different amounts of
caffeine.

There's also caffeine (I believe) in Tea as well...Do you drink Tea
?....Paco

Paco...
No, I don't drink tea because I don't like it. I don't drink
caffeinated soft drinks either. I used to be a nervous wreck!

Sue...
I do know that my cardiologist wanted to know how much coffee I drank. And
when. Must mean something.

I used to drink three or four mugs of coffee with breakfast. If we went out
to dinner, I would have coffee with dinner. In fact, Jim used to get angry
with me, because if we went to IHOP they would put a carafe of coffee on the
table. I'd keep topping mine off to keep it hot. Jim would let his cup sit
there until he finished eating. When he was ready for a refill, the put was
often empty. I never noticed any ill effects, and always slept well. About
25 years ago, my mother had ulcer surgery. Since gastrointestinal problems
run in the family, I read up on them and found that caffeine is often a
contributing factor. I quit drinking coffee cold turkey. It never bothered
me a bit. I have a cup once in several months, if I'm with a group of
people, but I have to load it with sugar and still don't like it very much.
I was never particularly fond of tea, and was completely turned off it after
I worked to a man who drank tea all day long and wanted me to drink it too.
I do drink a coke a day, most days. That is usually at lunchtime. That
accounts for my entire intake of caffein, except for occasional small doses
of chocolate.

Incidentally, as I said, I never missed coffee at all. My mother had
headaches for the first two weeks after she quit. After two or three years,
she started drinking decaf, then went back to the real stuff, which she
still drinks.
