A few years ago my sister stuffed some shirts and pants with straw and made
scarecrows sitting in chairs around the front of her house.
She got a big shirt and pants and stuffed some straw into her sleeves and
pant legs.
Then she sat in a chair near the front door.
She looked just like the rest of the scarecrows.
When people came to the door, she would stand up and scare them.
O
She did it to one guy and he left his 2 kids there and ran down the
sidewalk.

LOL! I'll bet he was embarrassed!

to be a witch sitting on the porch to greet the trick or treaters. I
will be having house guests so maybe we can get us rigged out as
something scary. ;>O Bette

Well, I'll be dressing up to go to work, but I don't think that counts. I
could wear a button that says 10 more work days until I retire, but I hardly
think my manager would find that "cute', even though she is happy for me.

Congratulations! You realize of course that after you retire you won't
have enough time to get anything done? :)

The kids may have thought so, when I explained very loudly that even in a
long dress I could still outrun them, so there aint gonna BE no food fight
at Gramma's wedding!

Thanks, Norma....right now I am just looking forward to not going to long
meetings, meeting sales goals, doing reports and dressing up to hurry off to
work in the morning and driving home after dark....I probably sound
"grouchy", but after 20 years, I am looking forward to peace & quiet...I
will have to develop some retirement skills, though. I really don't have a
hobby, but at least now, I'll have the time to find one....

How about travel for a hobby? You could start in New Hampshire....in
the summer if you like touristy things. :)

Clothes shopping is a wonderful hobby.
One thing about being retired is you don't have to dress up every day.
:-)
Beth...
|
Right on, Dalin....I'm no longer a dress up person.....just want to be
comfortable...
12 more work days....but then who is counting??

If you have a community college nearby you might want to sign up for a
"fun" class in Jan. You know, how to read tarot cards or analyze
handwriting. :-) And you can go to classes in jeans. :-)

One year my daughter dressed as a scarecrow with straw sticking our of
her sleeves and pantlegs. She slumped over on the steps and scared
many a kid that night when the scarecrow jumped up and hollered, "Boo!"

For the past few years I've put on my Broom Hilda (comic strip witch)
costume, but I don't think I will this year. I'll probably help serve the
homeless dinner at our church (we do it on the 3rd and 5th Tuesdays), and
I'll have to rush home just to be here in time to dole out candy. I don't
think I'll get a chance to change.

So why not wear your costume to the homeless dinner?
