mj...
From this point on would everyone please think positive that California's
rain is going to stop. I am leaving the 22nd to go to Ben Lomond, CA. Ben
Lomond is up the hill/mountain (however you look at it) from San Jose for a
week. My niece's husband is best man at his brother's wedding and will be
gone two weeks. The wedding is in Serbia because that is where the bride is
from. Somehow even putting expense aside heading out for Serbia with a 3
year old boy and a 10 month old girl didn't seem like a fun trip, especially
for the mother. She asked if I would come up for one of the weeks to help
her keep her sanity. Jake has been here several times since he was a little
guy but this will be my first time to meet Audrey.

My guess is she's about to lose her sanity anyway because it has done
nothing but rain for weeks. Their house is in a woodsy type area so doubt if
there's been outdoor play. Fortunately, she has Jake in activities besides
pre school several days a week which would help his at home energy level.

I'm really looking forward to it but I would like to be able to sit on their
porch and enjoy being out of a city.

**Dalin**...
I will, I will! Sounds like a wonderful place to be if the rain
stops. Does the porch have a roof? Maybe you can sit out anyway if
it does. But don't forget to bring an umbrella. :-)

NOspam...
Have a good trip, mj-- C U when U return I hope :o)
Yes, the porch has a roof. In fact it's screened in but I had warmer weather
in mind for rest when the kids are napping. :-) Rain still in the forecast
for when I am there.

**Dalin**...
We'll hope that the weatherman is wrong. :-) We've had vacations
before where all it did was rain and they are no fun! I would imagine
a rain up in the mountains would be pretty cold and damp. Especially
in the woods. Better take along a lot of DEET.

Jim Everman...
Speaking of DEET, I have already seen the first tick of the season.
The Friday (a couple weeks ago) Steve & I went geocaching, after we got
back to Steve's house I felt something crawling on me and it turned out
to be a tick. I disposed of him and then took a shower just in case he
had friends with him.

62+ people have found my geocache.

Geo Jim

**Dalin**...
I've never had a tick. Will a shower get them off?

Jim Everman...
It will if they are still crawling around trying to decide if they
like you or not. If they have already dug in, no.

Is that good or bad that 62+ people have found your geocache. Is that
the one that is in the birdhouse?

Jim Everman...
Bird feeder. I really don't know if that's a good number or not..
better than some. A large group of people (six or seven adults, 4 or 5
kids) found it yesterday while Gwen and the boys were playing in the
back yard. One of the finders is a neighbor that has claimed one of the
raised garden beds already. I was on the deck watching the boys play so
I also got to watch the geocachers find the cache. Then we all went over
to talk to them.

I checked the log for the cache and the only person to log it
yesterday (so far) is someone that wrote, ". . . I was hoping that we
would be able to say hello to the eyes on the deck but sadly they were
not there."

I guess that means there was at least a second visit yesterday. It is
fun to meet the people that come looking - the people we did meet had
several kids, a couple the age of the boys. Oh yes, Jean, you are right,
Axel is three and a half.. it goes fast.

I hope you had a good day Jim with no nausea, etc. How are the boys,
have they destroyed your apartment yet?

Joy...
I'm in favor of the California rain stopping. I've had enough of it to last
for quite a while, and we usually get the storms after Northern California
gets them.

I agree, the babysitting job sounds much better without rain.
