Rib cook off

Was a delicious evening at my Son's..4 neighbors brought mouth
watering ribs, plus Clark's prizewinners at So.West's cook off.
There was soooo much to eat, big green salad , macroni, potato and
fruit salads.Baked beans.
One lady brought a great sweet potato dish, a bit spicy. A judge was
chosen to rate the ribs..he stuffed himself, smacked his lips, wiped
his mouth, bit and chewed more...finally declared that each and every
one was a winner, each sooo different from the other..they rated a
prize. Kenai, the Golden Ret. and his girlfriend Dixie..another G.R.
were in 7th. Heaven ...were not allowed any of the goodies, but if
inhaling the odors could fill them up, they would be enormous. It was
Homecoming nite for the High schoolers and one neighbor's daughter, and
her boy friend ,and two of her girl friends came to show off their
finery. They all looked adorable, shiny stuff in their pretty hair
do's....lovely gowns..I think the fella was a bit overwhelmed to be
escorting 3 such pretty ladies. They gobbled a bit of food while
waiting for Steffie's Dad to get finished to take their pictures. Hope
i get one. I like evenings like that. ;>) Bette

Family, fun and food. Life doesn't get any better. :)
My oldest g-daughter was home from college for the weekend. She called
me yesterday and wanted to know if I could come over for supper. She
cooked chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. I laughed remembering
how I paced up and down the kitchen 18 years ago trying to give a warm
bottle of formula to this crying baby so her mom could get some rest.
Now she's serving me hot meals. LOL
