Goromoff...
It's about time you good people were updated re my little venture.

Goromoff...
Yes mate, I know that Publisher will do exactly what I want, but
unfortunately, the result will not sit in Word.

As an added complexity, I have to comply with the printers' specifications.

Well, the text is just about complete, and I am in process of getting the
final page layout together, but a problem has arisen. With me, there is
always a problem.

In laying out the pages, there are blanks where the text does not fill a
page and because I am setting each of the stories to begin on the odds,
there is a blank whole page on the evens.

I am setting, or trying to set, artwork in there - but the darned thing is
not behaving for me. I have learned to insert a pic in the right place, but
I am simply unable to firtle said pic to fit and sit properly to size.

Can anyone offer help here? I am using MSWord as processor.

Also, the page numbering has presented me with a problem. I would like to
have the actual content, the good bits if you like, to start on page 1, and
to have the leading pages - index, introduction, dedication, legals etc to
be numbered so:- i,ii,iii,iv and so on. Can anyone suggest how this may be
don, that is, to begin page numbering part way on?

make the front part a separate section and set the footer to roman numerals

Goromoff, off to fiddle a bit more with Word!

Lou...
Aside from gruffy's suggestion, be aware there is a
microsoft.public.word group where you might find help.

Goromoff...
thanks for the pointer, Lou!
