Sardines are available in water, mustard and tomato sauce. Which ones do
you folks prefer for these sandwiches? I've always just eaten the mustard
ones out of the can but the sanwiches do sound like they might be tasty.

If you like mustard on sardines, try Pickapappa sauce. (available in the
section where you'd find things like worchestershire sauce)

It all sounds too acidy to me! I don't even like vinegar in salads...

I used to eat them when I was a kid. Mom mashed them with
about a Tbsp of butter and a tad of lemon juice. I wasn't too
enthralled when I made one recently using that formula. I
gather not all sardines are equal. King Oscar (or is it
Oskar) is supposed to be a good brand. I don't know whether
I'd read that before I made my sandwich--or whether that was

Never seen them here in either Krogers, Meijers or Wal-Mart, but don't think
I really want hot peppers in sardines, or anywhere else. My stomach is just
no longer up to it- and neither are my nether regions.
