Just received this from an old friend from our days at Lincoln Air Force
Base, Nebraska. Some fantastic photos of the deer in this couples'
yard. I am sure you will like it.

Arch, these are fantastic pictures. We had deer in our pasture last week.
I took a picture, but it was from a distance. Stan thought maybe he could
walk right up to it and headed towards it. We think it was a yearling....not
sure. He/she watched Stan for a long while, then calmly turned her back and
shook her white tail and headed to the creek. I love the deer. But, sigh,
it is deer season here.

Oh, I'd hate that near me. I can see why you've given up on meat.

If it is a mammal, yes. Haven't given up turkey or fish, yet. But, I am
working on poultry.

I wonder how one draws the line? I eat very little meat, and
Leah eats even less meat than I do )I doubt she has it even
once every four months). We do eat a lot of poultry and fish
though. And eggs.

Arch those are fantastic pictures! And to think the deer are so
friendly even though this couple does not feed them. Though there
were some pumpkins under a tree that they said the deer would eat
after the photographer left.
It's nice to see wild animals enjoying a relationship with humans. I
think maybe they like those back scratches and head rubs. :-)

Hitting a deer happens often up here.

It probably depends on WHY you don't eat meat or poultry as to where
you draw the line. I think it's a pretty individual decision.
