Huguette...

**Dalin**...
Lovely pictures Huguette. Thanks for sharing. Your grandchildren are
beautiful. :-) And a lovely picture of you too. :-)

Jean B....
Lovely pics of a lovely family, Huguette. At

btw. (I always try to save the most recent reminder of David,
so I'll be able to find that url. )

I hope it is not to controversial to ask here, but do your
grandchildren experience any problems because of the mixed
heritage? I know that in the past, it would have been a
problem in Korea and much, if not all, of Asia.

Huguette...
I believe that problems come when we haven't your spirit enough open on
other cultures;
Our daughter in Law's parent do not speak English but we found another way
to
show them our friendship. Meeting with family, some words in their own
language ...

We have been discussing this on another group, and one
observation is that this is less apt to cause problems in
cities than it is to cause them in more rural areas....

Huguette...
They are rules that my children have to respect. For exemple they haven't be
able
to built there house in high place in the village because a child hasn't
right to live in place
above her:his parent ....my son accepted that. Why to hurt somebody when you
have pleased in their company.

Jean B....
Very interesting, Huguette, esp. the last point. (The first
point is right, of course, but some folks are not so
enlightened.) Did I ever tell you I married a Japanese man?
In a Shinto ceremony? (Don't ask for details. It was a long
time ago. If anyone REALLY want to see a pic, maybe we can
scan an old one for the blog.)

Huguette...
My son Pilippe had a Korean wedding and wore the traditional suit and we did
the same. It was
in 1994 at TAEGU.
Several in the group already have seen this picture, but I put it on the
blog.
Show your own picture on the blog I'm sure that will be interesting. I like
Japonese and Korean culture and their
traditions even if there is a sad contentious between these two countries
.....
Huguette

Jean B....
I love those pictures, Huguette. I wonder how similar the
ceremonies are--if they are at all similar? We wore Western
clothing. One funny thing about this is that one also rented
REALLY nice garb for official photos in a studio. (That was
just for the photos and not for the ceremony.)

Boy, I would have been crippled if I had to sit on the floor
like that. I have never been good at that, and that has only

Joy...
What a nice picture, Huguette! The clothes are so colorful. Thank you for
posting it.

Yes, Jean. I'd love to see your picture. I'd love to hear the story, too,
but if you don't want to tell it, that's okay.

dae...
Joy and Jean,

Yeah, that goes for me also. Maybe too personal and I don't want to be
nosey. I also lie a lot:-)

Well, that is a news item:-) I knew you were in the Orient but I never knew
you had married a Japanese man. Got pictures? Sounds very interesting.
Tell us more please.

Don and his Devil

Jean B....
News to you, but not new. I did this in 1981.... I'll try to
find some pics, maybe tomorrow. Perhaps I'll also string a
few words together. :-)
Hi Joy and Don,

I'll do that soon. Requires unburying that closet that mostly
contains my genealogical stuff. I kind-of thought I hadn't
mentioned that marriage, even though I have mentioned living
in Japan.... Maybe I'll at least write about it a bit
tomorrow (esp. if it will distract Don ).
