Mikals11...
I think Mikal done posted another drawing up to Davids wonderful blog....

No biggie but I think some of you folks enjoy it....
This is the color work for the next book cover....
All I need is the authors approval and its off to start the drawings for the
chapters....

Norma...
Fantastic! I smile just looking at those faces. :)

Phyllis Copp...
Very nice!

Just great! You are a talented man, Mikal.

Mikals11...
Talent has nothing to do with it.... theres millions of folks who do better
then me.... I was lucky enough to have someone back me up and put my work in
front of people so it could be seen.... then all it took was finding someone
who needed something....

Yuppers.... that old Mikal is honest.... There by God goes Mikal because he

mmj1...
I disagree talent has nothing to do with it. Little, little kids offer to
help me draw. It's so disappointing to me because I come from an artistic
family. Both my brother and sister could have been comic strip artists. I
have two beautiful paintings done by an uncle. Although he was an interior
decorator by trade he often sold his paintings that hung in his store. Not
only that he could play the piano by ear and had a beautiful singing voice
as another uncle did also. Both sang at churches, weddings, etc., but
neither chose it as there profession. This is leading up to my saying I
can't carry a tune either. But I am fun at a party and animals and kids like

had help....

david...
lovely, mikal... looks a lot better than the one I tried to color.... :)
but it was fun to do... i worked on mine using the computer and the colors
were - uhh... strange, at best. all the best to you...
Gracie (the author of the book) likes me to make the faces gentle
looking.... but no matter what I do Fixer always has a little touch of the
devil in her smirk.... Its just the way I see her.... Shes a "can do fairy"
and that look is complete confidence in herself....

Phyllis Copp...

Mikals11...
Why Thank You Phyllis.... now you got to buy the book when it comes out....
;-) This is the second in the series.... the first being Mama's in Heaven
which has been out for 2 years now.... I think its 2 years anyway....

Phyllis Copp...
I'll have to look for it, it sounds interesting, did you do the art work in
the first one too?
Phyllis
Don't change a thing, she looks just perfect! I'd love to see the finished
book.
Phyllis

Mikals11...
Yes.... I did the cover and 4 black and white drawings in the book.... I was
very very disappointed with the way the drawings were shown in this book....
They were supposed to be full page and wound up being corner page in the
book.... Thats why I'm doing all the layouts in this next book.... You
should be able to read about Mama's in Heaven and buy it at this site.... I
still think the price is way too high.... but I'm only a drawer.... what do

I know.... ;-)

Norma...
You and I have to have a talk, young man! Don't sell yourself
short...ever! You are an artist.
Norma

Mikals11...
I'm a drawer.... ;-) All I'm really pointing out is 20 bucks is a little
high for a paperback book.... The layout of the drawings is what
disappointed me.... my drawings are shown about an inch and a half high....
You can't really see them.... they were drawn to be 5 by 8 inches.... By the
time I saw the first copy the book was already in print and there was
nothing I could do.... if it makes it to a second printing I can have it
corrected.... The truth is the drawings are only a small part of the book
and its whats written thats important after all.... I do understand that and
its part of the reason I'm doing the layout this time....

Jean B....
When you say you are a "drawer", I am thinking furniture,
Mikal.... If you can't accept any other rationale, perhaps
you can accept the fact that, at least in writing, it is less
confusing to say you are an artist. Of course, it appears
that you are outvoted anyway.... :-)

Mikals11...
Aaaaaaa.... you got to say the word with a southern draw.... drrrrer....
thats what I be.... a good drrrrer.... ;-)

Joy...
Well, at least you admit you're a good one. ;-) Which you are.

Joy...
An artist is an artist is an artist, whether s/he is a drawer, a painter, a
writer, a composer or a performer. You are an artist, whether you like it
or not. Talent has everything to do with it. Everyone can NOT do what you
do. You have been blessed with a talent, and it is not right to keep
putting it down. If you want to say, "I can't take any credit for it. I
was born this way," that's okay, but don't keep denying you have talent.

Mikals11...
Honest Joy I'm not putting myself down.... I just feel very lucky with the
way things have turned out for me.... Its only a couple of years ago when I
refused to draw for anyone....

Phyllis Copp...
Thanks for the info, I think I'll try the library and see if they have it
in stock.
Phyllis
I'm ashamed to admit it but I'm the one holding it back.... The written part
is already at the printers for the last couple of months.... Everyones
waiting for me to finish the drawings and all this time I've been waiting
for the author to send me pictures of her redheaded friend whos face she
wanted to use as Fixers....

Time is getting short so I just finished it up the way I see her.... The
book should be out sometime this late winter or early spring.... unless
Gracie rejects this one.... she has a habit of rejecting my Fixers.... ;-)

Norma...
Somehow, I don't see any rejections coming up. :)
Norma

Mikals11...
And right you are Norma.... It just got approved a few minutes ago.... now
its off to the races on the rest of the drawings.... I do these next ones
in color for myself and then convert them to black and white for the
book....
