I couldn't help but think of Joy this weekend when the hose to the washer
broke. Fortunately, we were able to get the water off quickly and with the
help of my granddaughter's boyfriend they have been replaced along with new
faucets.

I hope this is the only incident and it doesn't continue around the house as
Joy's incidents did.

I hope so too, mj! Is the wahser in the house? I had a washer hose break
some time last year, but the washer is in the garage, so it wasn't nearly as
bad as if it had been in the house.

Jim Everman...
I think the recommended life of those hoses is about 5 years.
Considering the cost of the damage they might cause, it might be
advisable to replace them from time to time.

Yeah, I have had them break too... ;-)

We have found that out now but, unfortunately, neither one of us ever
thought about it and no one ever told us.

Another thing we usually aren't told is to check the burner assembly of a
gas dryer at least once a year. Lint can accumulate in that area. If
enough lint accumulates, the lighting of the burner can ignite the lint and
start a fire.
