I am only 39 now not sure when I am 50 what life will be. Kids will
not arround you? Only your spouse or not. Lonely life?

When I was 39 (and when I was 29) I was depressed and working at a job I
hated a little more with each passing day. After I got home from work, I
sat in front of the tv, ate junk, and waited to die. Life was one long,
gray trudge to the grave for me.
When I was 44, I got slapped upside the head (as they said in my
neighborhood then) and woke up, went back to school, went on
antidepressants, and found my bliss.
Now I'm 54 and I'm pretty darn happy. I have friends I love all over the
world, I do work that I love and that's worthwhile, and I'm trying to
take care of myself so that I can live a long and healthy life.
I don't know if that answers your question. But if you came here looking
for a bunch of geezers who whine that their children never call and can
only talk about their rhumatiz, you've come to the wrong place.

I have had a great life, wonderful wife and kids. So, I have some
ailments now but the doctors are doing a pretty good job and also
being 76, I can still hold a camera and snap photos of beautiful
little critters and flowers and people. We have probably all made
a mistake along the road but we survived and learned from them. I
am glad to have friends from all over the world and I feel very
fortunate to be where I am. If you keep doing your best every day
now, you won't have to worry about "after 50".

As you can see from the responses to your question, life when you're over
50, or any age for that matter, is largely what you decide you want it to
be. Almost anybody has some reasons to sit around feeling sorry for
themselves, but what fun is that? If you decide to do things you're
interested in, to check out things to find new interests, and keep an open
mind, life can be great at any age.
My mother is 94 years old. A few months ago she moved into an assisted
living facility. She has macular degeneration, which makes her virtually
blind, congestive heart failure, and various other health problems. She is
now dependent on other people, after being very independent all her life.
She is still enjoying life most of the time, has made many friends at the
facility where she lives, and enjoys the antics of the other "inmates" as
she calls them.

Life begins when the last child leaves home and the dog dies.

LOL! As I said to someone only yesterday 'If I'd known I was
going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself... ;-)

I found that after you hit fifty, you keep on having birthdays until you
stop. We really don't know when that will be. So, just be thankful for
every day you have from now on. By the way, 50 is pretty darn young!
