My computer had been set so I would get notification of the
updates but then could choose when to do them myself, so the
computer would not restart in the middle of something.
Somehow that has changed, and my computer restarted after an
automatic update. Where do I find the settings, so I can
change them back to the way they were?

Thanks. For some odd reason, I didn't see the control panel,
but I did see the update settings, and changed them. I don't
know how it changed itself to automatic. And Leah is
constantly complaining about her computer restarting, causing
her to lose things. (She did have the control panel option
and found it as described.)
Hmmmm. Is my lack of control panel related to my missing
volume control setting?

don't know... on your prior concern, Microsoft did make a change to the
update process after giving you that option of manual or automatic... and
that may have caused your confusion on how it was working. we liked the
original process and also had some difficulty when the change was made.
