dae...
This August we will be celebrating our 50th High School reunion and a
certain person who lives in MA has engaged the "Platters" from the early
'50's era to perform for one hour and 20 minutes. They will sing all of
their hits, which were many back then. The group has three original members
and they still perform. One of them that I know of lives in MA and is
friends with our "Patron".
I'm sure most of you have heard of them. One of their songs is "My Prayer".
I remember that as I was in boot camp and under total outside restriction
for six weeks. No radio, newspaper's only mail. When we were allowed radio
that was the first song I heard.
I just thought this was neat enough to share with you.

**Dalin**...
That sounds terrific Don! Will you be able to go? We'd love a first

NHunkele...
That *is* neat. Talk to your docs and make sure they leave you in
good enough shape to go! Maybe they can do some surgery after the
event.
Norma

Jean B....
Or maybe the dr. could go with him--both for the pelasure of
being there and also to make sure Don is okay!

Sue...
How kewl is that? One of my favorite groups.
sue

Joy...
That is neat. It is even neater to know that you have something happy to
share. I know you can use happy thoughts.

Jean B....
Hehe. I forgot the MA part as I read backwards and wondered
whether this was a certain gentleman who lives in Stow. That
is very neat, and I hope you can go and enjoy the reunion.

dae...
Jean B.,

Ping. You won:-) He will also have some of his, or borrowed 1956 cars out
here. I must say, he does know how to throw a party. Oh, and his Mom still
lives in town. She is 95 and he is trying to get someone to live with her.
She won't leave here. Kind of neat also.

Jane Benn...
That sure sounds like fun, Don.

Jean B....
Boy, that's going to be some party, Don. I do hope you are
planning to be there.

Do you ever see his mom?

dae...
Jean B.

Never saw her but talked to her on the phone a couple of times. I don't
know what will happen by then. If I'm able I'll be a late show. The Doctor
said today I should be okay by then, but who knows. He said he would like
to go also:-) He really did.

Jean B....
Don, when is the reunion and when is your next procedure?

And I do believe that about your doc. Maybe you can bribe him
into doing an ultra-stupendous job on you! :-)

dae...
Jean B.

Well, I don't know when the next procedure is right now. I may have an
added one after seeing my Cardiologist today. It seems that I may have an
arrhythmia of the heart and they might want to check it out first. It
depends on the Cardio Vascular Surgeon. If he thinks it is safe to proceed
with the stent in the abdomen then he will do it. If he would rather wait
and see if the heart is beating normally, then he may want that procedure
done first. I haven't mentioned this on the group as I think my sudden, and
varied health issues are boring folks to death. Monday I see my Dentist
about the tooth lost during the last procedure and in the afternoon I see my
Internist to see if she is up to snuff on what has been going on.
Hopefully, with the exception of another blood test next week I'll be able
to dope off until after June 5th when I see the Surgeon.

Jean B....
Gee, you do have enough on your plate, Don. I can kind-of
empathize re the heart rhythm thing, since I am experiencing
tachycardia/fibrillation. I should be getting the results
from the Holter monitor soon. How are they going to determine
what your problem is? Are you getting hooked up to a Holter
monitor, or are they insisting on something more intrusive?
I'd like to see your problems conquered one by one--without
the addition of any new ones.

And please don't worry about boring us. Many of us want to
know how you are doing, and if anyone doesn't want to know,
they can just click on by.

dae...
Jean B.

dae...
Jean B and Norma,

My Cardiologist said that I could probably go, and he offered to go with
me:-) That is the truth.

Jim Everman...
There are also those people that care but have no idea of how to
express their concern. Just because I'm quiet doesn't mean I'm not here.

dae...
Jim,

Sue...
I have that problem often, Jim.
sue

Jean B....
Ditto to you, of course!!!! I almost... called you.... But
by the time I ascertained I had enough minutes to do so, my
rare thought to actually pick up the phone had disappeared....

I know that and it is deeply appreciated by me. I worry about everyone here
on this group that is dealing with some illness, or is taking care of
someone who is ill. I can't respond to everyone as I would like, but I
really care. You are surely one of them Jim.

The Holter monitor is out. They are thinking of going into the veins and
doing an electronic monitoring. It will be invasive, and I don't know much
more that that. That is if the "have" to go that far.
Sorry to hear about your problems. I hope they can solve them with
medications.

Jean B....
Why are they not using the Holter monitor, Don? That other

Jean B....
I hope you're going to take him up on that--esp. if your are
just post-procedure. Seems you could satisfy a number of
goals that way--and be pretty safe.... :-)

monitoring doesn't sound pleasant, but I guess you have to
look at the alternative and grit (not break) your teeth.

dae...
Jean B.

The Holter only works for 24 hours.

Jean B....
How long do they want to follow you? And I thought the Holter
would work longer--but I did just have it for 24 hours.

NHunkele...
Irregular heartbeats are a pain! Not meant to be a joke. I can hear
my heart beat when I'm lying down going to sleep. It sounds like it
skips a beat every now and then. My doctor assures me it is an extra
beat and of no great concern. So I still hear it but don't worry about
it much any more. I'm still here every morning. LOL
Norma

Jean B....
I am glad you are not worrying about it, Norma. I do wonder
whether my problem happens throughout the day, and I only
notice it when I am quiet in bed. The results of the
monitoring should show that. Unfortunately, I am getting more
disconcerted about it....

I do hope Don's monitoring is not too nasty (I can't quite
imagine how it's going to be done), and that the results can
be dealt with easily....

NHunkele...
The doctor had me wear the Holter for 24 hours because I was so
concerned (about 2 years ago). Nothing important showed. The extra
beat does not occur very often now, I think because of the Atenolol I
take. Last fall, at the regular office visit she did a short
cardiogram and everything looked normal.
Norma

Jean B....
Oh! I just started on Atenolol! Have you had any side
effects? It seems to be doing the trick for my BP.

hand report.

Dalin

Lonestar...
That is Priceless! What a memorable event.
Robert

mmj29...
I saw them not too long ago on a PBS special. Sure brought back memories. My
wish for you is that you will be feeling good and attending to enjoy the
night.
