I won't be posting for awhile if AOL can't get my account corrected.
While my computer was in storage, I went to the $6.95 plan to keep my
account open. That was done the first of November last year.
The first of August, I updated my plan with a real live person at aol.
I signed up for the unlimited plan. The first of this month, I found
that it wasn't done. They are charging by the minute.
After many e-mails, I got a e-mail from Joanne from aol. She said that
their records showed that I didn't make the change until September 3rd.
She suggested that I be careful about the amount of time that I spend
on the computer until the next billing the end of this month. (Growling
now)
I wrote back and told her that I would be very careful with my hours on
aol by going to another IP. I have been with aol since 1997 with no
problems.

This can happen with any ISP, not only AOL. My cousin's granddaughter
came to live with them and had to have a computer. Knowing my cousin
lived in an area in Maryland where all her long distant phone calls,
out of her immediate area, were toll calls, when this kid started IMing
me, the thought did occur to me to ask about her connection. But
knowing how "bossy" I can appear, I let it go. I should have said
something. My cousin's first months telephone bill after getting the
computer, was $1,100.00! The granddaughter's ISP was not AOL.

arlin, if it gives you any flexibility, netzero gives 10 dialup hours free

Isn't that sweet?
As a Newbie on the computer, my first IP was AOL. That was many years ago.
And of course, it was dial up. I kept losing my concection and had to
redial. I didn't realize that I was dialing long distance each time I tried
to get back on line. Our phone bill was astranomical and of course, Sprint
would not let us pay on time, but insisted that it be payed right up front.
I am older and wiser now.

Even though my email addy is showing as gmail.com, I'm still with AOL
and have been since 1995, I think it was I signed on.
Arlin, ask AOL for the $14.95 per month, unlimited plan. I got it when
I called AOL, and reminded them of my length of time with them, and
asked for the lower priced plan. No need for you to be paying $23.95
of their unlimited plan after being a long time customer. Don't let
them tell you they have no such plan!

OH, Arlin! You need this lifeline now, since you are confined
to home. :-( I see you are using aol as you ISP. Maybe you
should explore your other local options.
