Tis Mikal back after another windy night....
Only 400,000+ people lost thier electric.... and only a few roads are still
closed....
It was a fun night....
I've never seen as many electric transformers go in such a short time
before.... dozens of them from each side of us.... They'd light up the sky
with a red or blue flash.... One towards Washington from here lite the
entire sky long enough to get a real good view of it....
And then just to cap the evening off.... The lightning storms came in around
8 or 8:30....
This one was good.... not as good as the one in 95 that blew my front
windows in.... but for lighting up the sky it was great.... My trees are
still standing.... a few branches to be picked up....
I've seen better.... (he says with a wink)

Yeah, I saw on the weather that you were having delightful weather out
there.
Is there more to come?

In other words, you had a light show last night. Glad you enjoyed it. ;-)
I'm glad it wasn't any worse.

I only saw one go years ago. It must have been something to see a lot of

I'm wondering myself if it wasen't a power station along the river that went

them. Glad you didn't blow away.

And you still have electricity. :-) That must have been some sight to
see those transformers go. I only saw one once, there was an enormous
explosion and the whole sky turned sickly green.
I'm glad you all made it through the night Mikal. :-) Bet you didn't
sleep much though!

Outside of the power flickering on and off a few times and the kitten being
afraid of the noise it wasen't bad at all.... Some homes were lost by being
crushed by falling trees and its going to take them days to restore power
thruout the area.... It could have been much worse.... As for sleeping we
did OK.... Most of the storm was over by midnight.... Just gusts after
that....
One tree in back cracked but didn't come down.... I'll look for it later....

Oh golly, a cracked tree is a dangerous tree. Do you rent your space
Mikal? The owner should check out those trees.
I did hear this morning that a school bus had a tree come down on the
top of it. It was filled with kids, but they were ok. Not sure if it
was in Oregon or Washington.
I'm sure glad you got through it safely and I hope there are no more.
Give little Princess a big hug from me. Can't wait for the pictures.

I've seen on TV some of the damage and fires in Washington and hoped
Oregon didn't get hit as hard. So glad *you* came through it with
minimal damage.

We have about the same thing here.... a lot of roads shut down and they
closed a few bridges due to high water and wind.... We have these "new"
housing developments where the city wouldn't let them take down the older
trees.... I don't understand the thinking behind that.... Most all the trees

I think that bus getting bonked was here in Oregon....
I was going to set the scanner up last night but decided better of it....
I'll try again tonight so I can post up some shots of her....
The bigger trees are in the person behind my yard....
Hes the one whos in the way of most of them....

are removed with just a couple left standing.... Picture 60 to 80 foot tall
pine trees with the ground soaked and winds hitting the tops of the trees at
70 to 80 miles an hour.... Of course thier going to go thru people roofs....
and they did....
