That is extremely frustrating. I am soooo glad I finally have
someone I trust after my previous miserable experience. Hnang
in there, Janie.

Besides the fact that she didn't do what you wanted, wouldn't
long hair have more swing?
|
|
Just got back from my hairdressers. OH MY! I'm almost in tears! I found a
pic on the Internet and SHOWED her what I wanted. it's not what I got! :( I
came home and David said,"Hi,Mo.......uh,what happened to you hair?"
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I know how maddening that can be, Janie. The only consolation is, it will
grow out.

Jean B....
|
Ah well, this too will pass. Probably all of us have had that
experience though, and how unhappy it makes us!

I cut my own hair for years and years. (See

Heh. When you were here, you were around the Bismarck area, right? Here in
the valley it's MUCH greener.

Uh, were you mad or something? What did you use to cut
it? I think I'm too much of a klutz, and I have a problem
working with my reflection now. I did lop it off once, when I

I do my own all the time, too. For me there's a strong psychological
component: if I pay a professional, I want it to look *good*. And since
it's still my hair around my face, how good is it going to look? But if
I do it myself and it doesn't look like I did it with a weedwhacker, I'm
happy. :-)
Jean B....
|
I wonder whether I'll ever go that route? I still think my
lack of coordination when looking in the mirror would be a
deterrent.

Then I got frozen shoulder and it became very difficult. I started going to

When did your shoulder get frozen? Is it still???

a beautician to do it, and have found that they make mistakes, too. I
rarely get what I'd call a great cut. But my hair grows fast, I'm not
fussy--obviously, since I cut my own from the time I was about 23 or 24--and
it's nice to have someone else do it.

I bet!
Marilee...

There are drawbacks. I have to have it cut during the day. I have to
remember to call to make an appointment. I have to keep telling her (Every.
Single. Time.) "No, shorter at the neck, If I can grab it, it's too long!"
And, to tell you the truth, I think I actually preferred the cuts I gave
myself. I never seemed to give myself the "whoa, that's short!" look on
top, and left a bit more at the top-sides of my head.
Oh, well.

One time when I wore my hair short and they were taking too much off
the top and sides I told my hairdresser to imagine a bowl on my head
and to cut around the edges. It was the best short haircut I ever
had. :-) And she cut it that way until I decided to change.
Jean B....
|
BUT, if one goes that route, it seems it could be done at
home. I think even *I* could do that! Or perhaps not...
**Dalin**...
|
But don't you wear your hair long?
|
|
|
|
|
I've seen some pretty awful salon results, though, over the years. I feel
for every woman whose hair is butchered.
Jean B....
|
Yes, I hope Janie didn't think I was making light of her
plight. It is hard to live with while it grows out.

They never do what you want. :-( Or they don't know how. How did
you want it and what did you end up with?
