Bud (Eugene) is the farmer. I don't think he really cares. And I have
read most of what he needs to do to keep them warm.
They do have part of the barn, which the little ones can go into. And
sometimes the big ones as well. And I do think they cuddle.

I'm glad to hear they have some shelter, at least it would keep the
wind and rain off them. He probably doesn't care 'cause he probably
just sells them at auction when they weigh enough. :-(

Wow, I haven't even heard that temp for here, though, come to
think of it, it was already down to 32F/0C a couple of hours ago.

We awakened to snow this morning. About an inch so far and it's still
coming down, covering all the unraked leaves. The wind chill is 21
degrees. We need to walk Shadow and neither of us wants to go out.
Welcome winter. :-)

You need a little doggy treadmill.... ;-)

She's just a litle kid. Have you tried a litter box?
We have bright sunshine, pale blue skies, not a cloud lin sight at the
moment. That can change in a hurry. :)
I'm off to the dentist this morning to have some intermittent, mildly
aching teeth checked out.

Not a nice way to start the morning! I hope it's nothing serious.
We tried a litter box, she digs the litter out. That's not the
problem as she uses the puppy pads, but she needs the exercise. She
is just so full of energy sometimes she doesn't know how to contain
herself and races through the house and you better not get in her way.
That little dog will mow you right down.

Darn it, we had a treadmill and sold it a few months before we got the
dog. :-( It mighta worked. Maybe I can find a giant squirrel wheel.

Dalin,
I heard that you would have your Winter starting yesterday or today because
of the Lake and the cold. Oh well, I guess you are used to it by now
anyway. I can't remember but is this Shadow's first Winter?

Well at least the leaves are covered. Shadow will have frosty toes.

But you can just use the blue (or bleu) cheese that you like, JD.

no, but all recipes have room for tinkering.

heh! better you than me.
Clear and sunny and pleasant here. I took the day off to take my aging
'lil stallion to the vet for some over due attention. He seemed to enjoy
the ride as I had left the head door open for him to stick his muzzle
out and whinny when he felt obliged. Well, he didn't enjoy the tooth
work he had done at the vet, but other than that it is just another
lousy day in paradise for us all. Very cool in the 70's... one needs a
jacket to go outside. Wind chill a bone freezing 60 ATM. Corned beef
cabbage roll-ups with some roasted 'taters for din-din tonight. I'll
include a freshly baked ciabata bread loaf with it... and lots and lots
of butter!

You just want to see an old lady cry, dontcha? It was a bright, sunny,
crisp day here but I just went to the store for milk and if I was a
brass monkey, you know what would have frozen. :(

Dinner sounds absolutely fantastic!!

now that you mention it... I think I'll toss it out today.

It was gorgeous here. It's a bit colder than the norm for this time of
year, in the low 40's, but the sky was blue without a cloud in it. A
lovely, lovely day.

And it's gonna get worse. :-)

There are different qualities of blue cheese. Some are tasty and some
are not. Trouble iz I never ran across a godzilla cheese that I found to
be really good. The pear salad is a darned nice thing, but I take it
with infrequent indulgence.

Jean B....

I don't like musty-tasting blue cheese. I like it sharp and
clean....

Nah! He's just being sadistic. Shall we slap him?

No she was born Aug. 1 2005 and we brought her home Oct. 23 and she
ran and played outside all last winter too. She only weighed about 3
lbs. then and she would dive into the snowbanks on the side of the
road and you couldn't even see her. Do Daisy and Buttons go out in
the snow? Being white it would be hard to see them. :-)

My brother's middle name is "G". No name; no period. I guess they gave him
a bad time about it when he joined the navy, but he had his birth
certificate to prove it.

My uncle's name was Quinn Jay, after his father, Quinn James. When he
went into the military during WWII, they wanted to put down 'Quinn James
Jr' and he had a devil of a time telling them he wasn't a junior.
Unfortunately he made the mistake of telling me that story, and he's been
'junior' ever since. ;-)

I used to know a Chinese girl named Mary Loo. Everybody called her MaryLou.
She seem to convince people that Loo was her last name, and she wanted to be
called just Mary.

Lin,
Daisy and Button's don't go out in the snow. Being white is one problem,
but having hair and not fur is the other. They have nothing on their
bellies. So, if it were cold and snowy they would be rubbing right against
it. Not good. So I keep them in during the Winter. I let them out into
the garage which is heated, but not in the cold and snow.

Shadow has nothing on her lower belly either below her ribs but the
strap to hold on her coat which is rather wide. But it gets all wet.
Last winter she was out about 15 min. at a time and it didn't seem to
hurt her.
I'm not sure of the difference between hair and fur. We keep Shadow
clipped pretty short as it's easier for grooming. I think I'll let it
grow a little in the winter but the longer it grows the more snow she
soaks up. Her hair/fur acts like a wick!
Oh but how she loves the snow!

Sorry to LOL, but on reading the weather report here in the morning paper I
was groaning about our temperatures heading up again. Supposed to be in the
high 70's this weekend and 80 on Monday...just when I am ready for a little
fall weather and have my wool slacks out....
You can LOL at me when June rolls around.
