Paco,,,...
Every other day it shows Pacific time, although I am at
Eastern time. Maybe it needs a new battery.

Jean B....
Well, you are luckier than I am--I can't use one here at all
because of poor reception.

Joy...
If it's keeping the correct time, except for the time zone, it doesn't need
a battery; it just needs to be set for your time zone.

Jim Everman...
It probably is poor or marginal reception. This *might* be cured
(temporarily) by replacing the battery. If it were me, I'd make an
effort to find the best place to put the clock, then set it, like Joy
suggested. Batteries never huurt.

david...
ok, i confess. despite my interest in computers, we have non-atomic
clocks. they're generally accurate within a minute or two (quartz is
quite reliable..).. every six months or so, I call the local time
service for a check, but not always. And we've yet to go anywhere where
time within a minute or two was crucial. are we using technology where we
don't need it? (e.g., I was 10 minutes early for a doctor appt on Monday,
yet still waited 20 minutes to see him... )

Chakolate...
You can always go set your computer clock to NIST time:

And if you want a freebie app that will set the clock for you:

All KarenWare is great, so look around the site. It's all free.

david...
hi, chak,
yes, i've used karenware for many years... but i'm still not interested in
keeping my clock accurate...

I remember a watch some years ago (armitron?) that promised accuracy of 1
second within 100 years... honestly, I don't need it... I'd be either
10 minutes early or 10 minutes late... :)

mmj1...
I'm with you, David. Just give me a clock that is pretty much reliable with
an occasional check. As for being early to appointments I always am. My
leaving extra time is to cover that unexpected traffic delay which sometimes
does happen. I drive my granddaughters nuts because they leave at the last
possible moment.

Jean B....
I hate that! I was always on time. It's very hard when other
folks, who don't operate that way, are involved!

As for clocks, the atomic ones don't work here. I am reminded
that I want to get an old wind-up alarm clock before Leah
starts school. I am so sick of the cheap plastic junk that is
available now....
