13 counties to our east and south have been flooded. Roads washed
away, bridges collapsed. The New York State Thruway is closed from
Syracuse going east.
The governor has called in the National Guard and has declared a state
of emergency. We had a lot of rain here and the ground is saturated,
we can't take much more, but it's not supposed to rain today. There
will be scattered thunderstorms this evening, but maybe some of the
water we have now will sink into the ground a little bit.

Stan just asked about you this AM, wondering if you were effected by the
flooding.
We had a lot of rain here. The creek was up to the bank and there were
flash floods but nothing like you guys are getting in the East.
And we really needed the rain.
Stay safe, everybody.

I'm glad you and David are doing okay thus far and hope that
that continues to be the case. As you know, we in
Massachusetts can empathize!

I heard it was really bad in Pennsylvania, but I didn't realize so many
states were affected. I'm glad all of our people seem to be okay.

Well, if the soil is saturated then the water cannot sink in any more,
it must run off.

We aren't flooded here, though out at the lake they are. Water in
houses etc. Flooding all around us, but not us thank goodness. I'm
not sure why as we are low, but I guess we just didn't get as much
rain.

Are you safe if the creek overflows?

So glad for your luck. The East is going through such awful weather. Stay
dry and I hope that all of the East will get a break.
