Perseid Meteor Shower

Tonight is the Perseid Meteor Shower!

Generally, on nights when celestial event occur, Chicago is, by city
ordinance, socked in. However, since the full moon is due to destroy any
possiblity that a city dweller will be able to see the Perseids, it was
felt that no cloud cover was required. :-(

I was up at 3 a.m. a couple years ago and the display was unbelievable.
Streaks of light shooting across the sky in all directions and too
numerous to count.

One year we climbed up on our roof with blankets and pillows just to watch.

you're not alone Dalin...overcast in SF too @ 6:35pm & do not think it will
clear for the event!
