Bigbazza...
I have been reading an interesting (and funny in some cases) thread in RFC
cooking group.....And I wondered what any of us here could contribute to a
thread about 'bad' experience that may even have followed you into your
present age...And if you have come to love the things that you hated !..

Any comments ?

I used to dislike most squash - I love it now-- but I have always, and

Norma...
I was about 6 or 7 when I announced at the table that I was not eating
those gushy lima beans (things I didn't like were 'gushy') I was told
in a calm tone of voice that I could either eat them hot for supper or
cold for breakfast. After eating them cold for breakfast I don't
remember ever again protesting about lima beans or, for that matter,
spinach or liver (which the dog loved ). Once I was out on my own I
never again voluntarily ate lima beans.

still do DETEST eggplant.

YECHGKH! :O)

Joy...
I can't think of any at the moment, but I'd be willing to bet that if other
people start posting, I'll remember a couple.

Val Adams...
How about, 'margarine' during the war..basically lard, with a litle 'color
packet' you had to squoosh through the stuff to make it yellow?

NOspam...
Yes, I remember that stuff.
It only 'looked' a bit like butter, but it sure didn't TASTE like it!

Anne Jackson...
My first 'food memory' is from immediately after the war, when school dinners
started, and I was only five years old.

I went home at lunchtime one day, highly indignant, and told my grannie that
they'd put my pudding on the plate beside my main course, and made me eat it!

I guess I just wasn't used to having apple sauce served with roast pork,
huh!
