Jean B....
True. I guess it's six of one and a half dozen of the other.
It would depend, in part, on what the class was supposed to
get out of the speech, and that I don't know. The teacher was
absent today; otherwise, I might have heard.

Jean B....
Unless she had something in her eye, or the light was
bothering her, I wonder what that might indicate? We need a
student of body language!

**Dalin**...
Well, as the first woman speaker of the house, it is possible she was
looking for some attention. Or not.
David was leaving for a Scout Explorer meeting tonight and had just
pulled out of the driveway when an SUV coming up the street stopped
him, driver got out and a couple minutes later David pulled back in
the driveway with a great big box. Our next door neighbors in the
purple house whom we haven't talked to since winter started gave us a
box of eight very large smoked turkey breasts all vacuum sealed.
Seems the husband works at Plainville Turkey Farms which is up the

usually

road a bit.

What a surprise! He only delivered them to our house.

Now a question for the cooks. They were very cold when delivered but
it's very cold outside. They are tightly sealed and heat sealed all
around the edges. There are grill marks on the bottom of the breasts.
I am *assuming* they may be smoked. Do they have to be refrigerated
or kept in the freezer do you think?

Annie...
Well there is a website (informative too, tho did not see anything to help
you out) however, maybe it'll help you out..

Dalin...bet you're cozy & warm as in the background am listening to the

Jean B....
I would find it hard to believe that was the reason.

**Dalin**...
But she's human and much was made of her sitting in the speaker's
chair before the speech.

Joy...
I'd play it safe and refrigerate or freeze them.

**Dalin**...

Jean B....
I still don't believe that. Smart, accomplished women don't
have to resort to such ploys and would be more likely to find
them repugnant. Or at least that's MY take.

**Dalin**...
I think she knew all eyes would be on her and that she was making
history. Didn't you see how hard she tried not to grin when she first
sat down?

Chakolate...
Yes, I agree. She's probably really disgusted with the fact that
everybody is remarking about her blinking - would they be doing that
about a man?

Jean B....
Good point. Absolutely not!

**Dalin**...

Jean B....
No, I listened. But if she thought that, I'd think she
wouldn't have deliberately been blinking.

**Dalin**...
We don't know that she was deliberately blinking.
I would. A distraction is a distraction whether it's a man or a
woman.
I put them in the freezer. If I can reach Trish I'll ask her about
them. I hate to do that though. It's kind of like saying "Thanks for
the gift, what is it?"

Dalin

Joy...
I think that's what Jean was saying.

Jean B....
I thought someone posited that--which was what led to my
objecting.

**Dalin**...
i may have said it was a possibility probably because of her
unusually dark eye makeup

Jean B....
You said "Well, as the first woman speaker of the house, it is
possible she was looking for some attention. Or not."

That is what led to my comments.

And I don't post that with a fight in mind. I probably
attached more to that comment than you did!

**Dalin**...
I think you did since my comment also included "or not". :-)

Joy...
You could say something like, "I'm looking forward to enjoying them in
various ways. Do you have any suggestions?" That way, if she gives you any
suggestions at all, it will tell you whether they need to be cooked at all,
or just heated - or even just thawed and used for sandwiches, which is what
I'd do with them.

Pres' speech...not much else on @ 6 here but @ 9, where you are, many
choices!
Annie

**Dalin**...

Jean B....
I saw that but must have misunderstood.... If that is the
case, I'm sorry. :-)

**Dalin**...
Oh there is nothing to apologize for Jean. :-) For all I know women
may naturally blink their eyes more than men. And she could have had
a professional make up artist do her face and eyes too, knowing that
the eyes of the nation would be on the first woman speaker.

Actually I wish the media would stop talking about that and I wish she
would stop talking about breaking the marble ceiling and get on with
the work of this nation. A little bit about her breaking the marble
ceiling was warranted, but that's not her main purpose. Though she
herself seems to focus on that.

And whoever decided that Cheney and Polosi would always be behind the
president as he spoke made a mistake too. The focus should have been
on him and him alone.

**Dalin**...
Oh yes, we love turkey sandwiches though I don't think I've ever had a
smoked turkey sandwich before. I bet they would be good though.

Dalin
Thanks Annie. I didn't see anything there that looked like what I got
but I'm glad to have the site as there are a whole bunch of nice
recipes there. And we're going to be eating turkey for a long time.

Well, I watched 3/4 of the speech. Nancy Pelosi distracted me. She
would stand, the crowd would stand, she would sit, then they would.
And she blinked a lot. With her heavy eye makeup I started counting
how many times a minute she would blink. I had to keep starting over
as she would disappear from the screen often. I guess it was kind of
like counting sheep because I fell asleep.
