Hi Yall,
I had a chest x-ray and thyroid test this morning. I had the technicians in
stitches, err, not those kind. I used my German accent with them and they

I think this kind of "stitches" is related to Hebrew tzadi-het-kuf "to
laugh," as in the name Yitzhak (Isaac), whose mother gave him this name
because her friends laughed at her for getting pregnant at age 90.

thought I was from Germany. Well, until the end when I let them in on the
secret.
I also took my girls for a walk, 15 minutes and no pain.
Doing good.
Oh, and I never was on pain medication. Just toughed it out. Now I wonder
why I wasn't???

I'm gld you're doing better, Don. Won't you have to quit the blood thinners
to have the artery cleaned out?

Guffaw! I'm glad to see your Devil is running rampant now that you
don't hurt. :)

Really!!!! I thought you were just off it as a prelude to the
surgery that didn't happen. I dunno where that toughing out
mentality comes from. I guess it is hard to determine a
reasonable line between that and taking meds. Given all the
pain you have been in for such a long time, I am sure glad you
are finally on meds--and wish you had gone on them sooner.
What did your previous dr. have to say about that? Didn't she
/he try to get you to take something?????

Did any of your doctors ever offer you pain medication?
Harry had pain medication but took it sparingly because he was afraid
of becoming addicted. I couldn't convince him that at our ages, who
cared? He was also careful not to overdo activities when he didn't
hurt so that he wouldn't damage the joints any more than they were.

I know how you felt about Harry refusing the pain medication. My mother, at
94, was given a prescription for her cracked rib and the spasms it has
caused. She, too, takes it sparingly because it's narcotic and she doesn't
want to become addicted.

Is this Devil your apprentice? or your Dopple(ganger)?

Hi Izzy! Your sort of sneaked in here. Are you going to join
us? We love new members, keeps us from getting too inbred. :-)
I'm Linda, but I use the name Dalin on the internet. The syllables
reversed, as there are so many Lindas around. I live in central NY,
wife, mother, grandmother of one. My husband posts here too (david)
but we ignore each other if we can. He's the one in the stained
sweatshirt, and no shoes. I make him walk ten feet behind me when we
are out in public.
Hope you'll stick around.

'Cause yer nutz???
You need my doc - "Are you SURE that's enough?! We have people here
that want a lot more and they don't have nearly the reason to need it
that you do."
Well, that was encouraging (not).

Errrrmmmmmm, excuse me for asking, but if the dr is offering
more, then why are you experiencing pain rather than taking
more? I gather, assuming those folks are ambulatory, that it
is not a matter of being possibly doped into unconsciousness.
Oh. That feels very rude and nosy. Just ignore me. As I
have said, I think about you a lot....

That's such wonderful news Don. :-) I bet the whole world looks
different when you have no pain. I sure don't understand why you
weren't on any before but I did think you had the patch. I guess some
doctors are just afraid of people getting addicted to pain medicine.
It's criminal I think to let someone suffer when there is no need to.
Bet your babies loved walking with you again. :-) They must be very
well behaved for you to manage two of them together. :-)
