'documented' version is the one such as available on the website you so
nicely located. normally, that would be the 'right thing to do'...
however, for xnews, the documented version happens to be the 'last
version the author bothered to take the time to put together....'. to
get the newest version is two steps: 1: download the known version. 2.
download the updated exe file and copy into the appropriate directory.
it's weird, but it works... :)
