Stan...
I thought I would take Butterkup out for dinner and a movie this
evening.

We had a wonderful Mexican dinner at El Cancun with fer jitas and
drinks, it was great.

Now for the movie review, I rented "Friends With Money". Directv owes me
$3.99. It was the worst movie I've ever seen! It was awful. I couldn't tell
you what it was about because I just didn't know! It was terrible. I didn't
recognize any of these people. By that, I mean no one I've ever seen or met
talked like these people.

It was just bad. The characters in this film all had problems. None of
the problems were serious and none of the problems were solved. The writer
could have made this a TV series and then serious film critics, like myself,
would be able to turn it off after the first episode.

For months I've endured Jennifer Anniston's pained expression on covers
of tabloids while waiting in the supermarket checkout line. The only
difference between her face and that of a cocker spaniel is the intelligent
look on the cocker spaniel's face. In this movie she was really hard to
watch. Brad couldn't wait to get away from her.

I like all kinds of movies. Please, if I'm going to sit and watch a
movie for a 100+minutes give me a good story with believable characters
overcoming some problem.

"Friends With Money" gets ZERO stars from me. It already got $3.99 from
me.

Stan (Leonard Maltin(film critic) should be arrested for lying to the
elderly (me and Butterkup)

Stan, I get the feeling that you did not like the movie. Right? LOL
I have not been to the movies in quite a few years and really don't
intend to in the future. I don't think they make good ones anymore.

Norma...
First, why would you ever believe a film critic? Next - I go to the
local video store now and then and it takes me forever to pick out a
movie. I don't remember the titles from any promotions and I sure
don't recognize any of the actors or actresses. I often end up going
to the 'old movie' section just to see familiar things. The only time
I breeze in and out is after the Academy Awards. Then I pick the one
or two that looked interesting and it's back to fruitless browsing

Jean B....
The Queen is actually in my very town. I have to check out
the schedule. Maybe I'll go early next week, since Leah is
perfectly happy when I am not here.

Chakolate...
Do let me know how you liked it. I haven't spent money on a movie in
about 10 years, but I just might for this one.

Oh, and is Leah only imperfectly happy when you are there?

There are still a few good actors. Tom Hanks and Dustin Hoffman come to
mind. Unfortunately, they don't make many movies these days. Also, much as
it pains me to admit it, Leonardo di Caprio is more than just a pretty face.
I watched "Catch Me if you Can" for Tom Hanks, but I was impressed with
Leonardo's performance. Meryl Streep is also excellent.

I saw "Man of the Year" with Robin Williams last week, and enjoyed it very
much. I admit, though, the pickings have been thin lately. After going to
a movie every Friday for a couple of years, I skipped a couple of months
because there was nothing out that I considered worth seeing.

again.

Sue...
Guess who picked this movie?
I wanted to watch The Swamp Creature.

david...
i did a quick web search. seems stan's not alone in his opinion... serves
him right for just wanting an excuse to look at jennifer anniston... :)

yes, the swamp creature would have been more to my liking... (i like scary,
but only when scary is silly... if it's really scary, i can't watch...)

david...
watch...)

Stan...
I'm still scared of that guy on Mick's stairwell.

Stan :)

david...
well, i confess, stan. almost all scary movies are too scary for me.
dalin likes some, but being married to me she doesn't get to see as many
as she'd like... i'm a real scaredycat at movies... :) - and there's no
way i'd watch a movie called 'the swamp creature' unless the lights were
on and i had many opportunities to distract myself - such as taking a
trip to the fridge...

Chakolate...
If by 'scary' you mean monster movies, or creature features, I don't
much like them myself. But Hitchcock could scare the socks off me and
make me love it.

Sue...
I never buy movies. But I had to buy Club Dread. I laughed thoughout the
whole movie. Funny thing. Nobody else thought it was funny. LOL
I sent it to Lil. Mattie and he sent it back. LOL
