Cough syrup ineffective?

Some doctors are now saying that cough syrup does you no good.
Robitussin works just fine for me!

Actually, what I read is that cough syrup is approximately the same as a
sugar syrup - it's really the sugar that does the trick.

Maybe a little home science experiment is in order the next time you have
a cold?

i think the report was on a study of the studies... the current report is
that studies done on cough medicine don't meet the high bar of scientific
studies. meaning that there is no scientific proof that robitussin and
others work... it's a messy message and when i heard this on morning news
my first thought was "why tell us this?" :)

One doctor or one study says it and they all jump on the bandwagon I
think. Just like they *all* said coffee was bad, then they said it
was ok.

My doc says LDL is bad for me (the bad part of cholesterol) Today I
read an article on the internet that says LDL is GOOD for older
people! Can't wait to show that article to my doc and see what he
says. Bet he doesn't know!
