Stan...
Does anyone from the UK or nearby go to Munich for this festival? Too
far? Too expensive?

Michael Fanner...
Not too far, probably not too expensive, but I'm sure I could find better
ways to spend my vacation time, than tasting beer.

For example, if I *wanted* to spend my vacation time tasting beer, I
could taste San Miguel by a pool somewhere on Fuertaventura, or I could
taste Red Stripe by a pool on Barbados, or I could taste Bud in any bar in
the US. Or I could taste Guinness in any bar in Ireland (or Britain).

How about a Margaritafest in Young Harris? ;-)

Sue...
Sounds good. Bring your tent.

Michael Fanner...
Sadly the tent is no longer ours. We gave it away to someone whose idea of
a good holiday was sleeping on hard ground, walking half a mile for the
bathroom then walking back that same half mile cos that's where the tap
is and you forgot to take the water container, knowing that everything
that you say or do can be heard by the people in the tent next door, and I
nearly forgot, getting very damp when it rains.

Yes, we gave the tent away because we were once like that. Then we found
hotels and room service and en-suite bathrooms and bars just outside the
ground floor elevator entrance. In short, we found sanity.

Other than the tent thing, the scenario is perfect. ;-)

Stan...
The Margaritafest is an on-going year-around event held on the banks of
beautiful Byers creek where all are welcome to sit back in the shade and
listen to the rippling waters, the wonderful singing voice of your host,

Chakolate...
After WWII started, New Berlin didn't change its name, just the
pronunciation: New BERlin. :-) And Cairo, Illinois is pronounced 'KAY-
ro'.

I love the minutia! :-)

Stan, and the buzzing of 16 blenders.

Michael Fanner...
Sounds very nearly perfect, Stan. ;-)

Fredricksburg, Texas looks like my kind of town and the
Oktoberfest-Zinnzinnati looks great. I would like to visit both places.

Stan :) ( The German drinking song: "So Long Old Peter" has a new
meaning for me)

Stan (Ocktoberfest Munich 1955) ein grosse bier bitte!

Goromoff...
there are people who do, Stan. I do believe some people make this their
annual holiday.

I don't though. To be honest, I've never set foot off this little island!

JD Cooper...
We have several incarnations of Oktoberfest in Texas in the old German
settlements like Fredericksburg and etc. Is that too far?
