This August we will be celebrating our 50th High School reunion and a
certain person who lives in MA has engaged the "Platters" from the early
'50's era to perform for one hour and 20 minutes. They will sing all of
their hits, which were many back then. The group has three original members
and they still perform. One of them that I know of lives in MA and is
friends with our "Patron".
I'm sure most of you have heard of them. One of their songs is "My Prayer".
I remember that as I was in boot camp and under total outside restriction
for six weeks. No radio, newspaper's only mail. When we were allowed radio
that was the first song I heard.
I just thought this was neat enough to share with you.

That sure sounds like fun, Don.
**Dalin**...

That sounds terrific Don! Will you be able to go? We'd love a first
hand report.

That *is* neat. Talk to your docs and make sure they leave you in
good enough shape to go! Maybe they can do some surgery after the
event.

Or maybe the dr. could go with him--both for the pelasure of
being there and also to make sure Don is okay!

Jean B and Norma,
My Cardiologist said that I could probably go, and he offered to go with
me:-) That is the truth.

The doctor had me wear the Holter for 24 hours because I was so
concerned (about 2 years ago). Nothing important showed. The extra
beat does not occur very often now, I think because of the Atenolol I
take. Last fall, at the regular office visit she did a short
cardiogram and everything looked normal.

There are also those people that care but have no idea of how to
express their concern. Just because I'm quiet doesn't mean I'm not here.
Sue...
|
I have that problem often, Jim.

Jim,
I know that and it is deeply appreciated by me. I worry about everyone here
on this group that is dealing with some illness, or is taking care of
someone who is ill. I can't respond to everyone as I would like, but I
really care. You are surely one of them Jim.

Jean B....

Oh! I just started on Atenolol! Have you had any side
effects? It seems to be doing the trick for my BP.
|
|
Ditto to you, of course!!!! I almost... called you.... But
by the time I ascertained I had enough minutes to do so, my
rare thought to actually pick up the phone had disappeared....

|
Hehe. I forgot the MA part as I read backwards and wondered
whether this was a certain gentleman who lives in Stow. That
is very neat, and I hope you can go and enjoy the reunion.

Jean B.,
Ping. You won:-) He will also have some of his, or borrowed 1956 cars out
here. I must say, he does know how to throw a party. Oh, and his Mom still
lives in town. She is 95 and he is trying to get someone to live with her.
She won't leave here. Kind of neat also.
Jean B....
|
Boy, that's going to be some party, Don. I do hope you are
Jean B....

I hope you're going to take him up on that--esp. if your are
just post-procedure. Seems you could satisfy a number of
goals that way--and be pretty safe.... :-)

planning to be there.
Do you ever see his mom?
dae...
|
Jean B.
Never saw her but talked to her on the phone a couple of times. I don't
know what will happen by then. If I'm able I'll be a late show. The Doctor
said today I should be okay by then, but who knows. He said he would like
to go also:-) He really did.
Jean B....
|
Don, when is the reunion and when is your next procedure?
And I do believe that about your doc. Maybe you can bribe him
into doing an ultra-stupendous job on you! :-)

I saw them not too long ago on a PBS special. Sure brought back memories. My
wish for you is that you will be feeling good and attending to enjoy the
night.

Joy...

That is neat. It is even neater to know that you have something happy to
share. I know you can use happy thoughts.
