I took pictures last night and one of the pictures had video/audo.
My computers won't play it. My new computer informed me I needed something
called an audio/video codec.

The program you're using to play your video doesn't recognize the video.
There's a great little freebie that plays almost anything, called VLC
player. You can find it here:

thanks, chak. that's good to know. I've occasionally had troubles wrestling
with windows media player because it wanted a specific codec... I
downloaded the vlc program, but haven't used it yet. thanks.

sue, this page gives a bit of an explanation, although it may sound like
i'm no audio or video guy and try to avoid this stuff... but what you're
needing is a program that interfaces between your audio video file and your
player, such as windows media player. there are many free ones out there,
but I am beyond my knowledge at the end of this sentence... :)

Then you narrate a video as you take take it. It should pick up your
voice (he says with confidence born of never having tried)

Did you look in the manuals and stuff that came with the camera?
There may even be a CD in there with programs.
What camera is it?
