You know me, I try to do what's right, to do the right thing at the right
time for the right reason, well it doesn't always work out.
I told you fellas about the natural inbred and cultivated reserve of the
average English gentleman, but no, you would insist I apply the more brash
and open standards become standard in your colonial environment.
In some ways, things have gone downhill since the parting of the ways, and
I'm not sure I like it. Ok for you, yes, but for me - definitely NO.
I know now that I should not have bragged about remembering Her birthday.
Duty done for this year, I should have been able to look forward to a
year's peace and quiet, doing my own thing; sadly, this will not come to
pass.
Everything has been ruined, and I have to say, by your hand. Yes, I know it
was all in good intent, but, as I have said many times, we are bred to keep
our emotions in check. This flamboyant lovey dovey stuff is not for us,
especially in public! I mean, it's bad enough in private, but then, duty is
duty!
What am I rambling on about? Well, so many of you asked that I pass on
kisses and cuddles and hugs and all that soppy stuff that I felt honour
bound to comply - some of it anyway.
You see, when I met Her in Town, she asked if there was any mail for her. I
said yes, and told her of all your good wishes. I thought this would be OK
in public, in the middle of the shooping precinct, but one thing led to
another and that's how we came to be banned from the supermarket, the
furniture shop and I did so like that carpet too!
