Luckily, you can't really extrapolate from that early snowfall
that there will be a bad winter. One year we had a big storm
early in the season (well, before the season) and virtually
nothing thereafter.

Uh If a two story building is swaying I might consider looking for a
new place to live.

summer of 1944)

Yup. Last year we had a cold snap to start the winter then the rest of
it was quite moderate.

I had pictures of the snow. They were on my laptop when it crashed.
:-(
I learned a lesson with that.

They said 70% of Buffalo was without power.
That's about a ¼ million people with no power.

Gee, Dalin, I was just hearing about this while driving this
morning, and I was gonna check on you guys. I'm really glad
to hear you missed that. I gather it was a very heavy, and
hence, destructive, snow.

That's WAY early for them with the white stuff isn't it?
We got about 1/2 and inch!
It melted by this morning.

I think it's probably more like thousands, but I don't know for sure.
Blizzard winds blew down a lot of trees and lines. We sure are lucky
it missed us. We're just having high winds here.

I think the destruction is mostly because many leaves are still on the
trees, increasing the accummulation on the trees and then breaking
powelines, etc.
