I did a search for Creel Hale in Tn, Bledsoe county, and the image appeared.
:-)

The census index is by 'every name'.

The problem that one might face is that of the transcriber misreading the hand
written name. Then one has to try variations. This one was 'on the money'.

and it takes practice
one of the reasons many of us volunteers do look ups is to hone our own
skills

using a wild card * after a birthplace
Raglan* enabled me to find my own g grandfather Edward Jones from
Wales in Cheltenham England after several years searching in vain

and on sgb a missing relative listed in an english will has been found
in the Canadian census

yesterday Ancestry.co.uk have uploaded two transcriptions without images
1851 Scotland census

Raglan, Lanarkshire Ragland, Lanarkshire
I also see Ruglen in the civil parish of Rutherglen on the same page

look like typos to me (I was looking for Raglan* MON strays)

1861 Scotland census

my lot My great grand uncle
Name: Robert Thos Lapham
Age: 18 <<< 33? can anyone check this age please?

seems much too young
(just examples of traps in transcriptions)

I have his birth 7 April 1828 in Bath, Somerset England

I spent most of the night identifying one stray Richard Lapham in 1861
Scotland for my LAPHAM one-name study

it is the thrill of the hunter too
