Is it just me or are others having trouble viewing census images on
Ancestry.com? I have full membership and yet have not been able to get in
for the past 3 days. I can get the results of a query but can't actually
pull up the images.
I tried to get help but when I submit my question it comes up with a window
to register. This makes no sense since I paid my $300 but I try to go along
with the flow only to be told that name is already taken! HELP.

bit of a waste of time if you don't build a dialogue
they may be other users in the group
who have had and solved your problem already
just read of someone in USA who suffered sporadic from a dodgy old
copper telephone line giving intermittent faults
the setup passed all test until they got an old style telephone linesman
to it outdoors
any techie help
starts bty needing the basics - here OS and browser
there could be known issues
in genealogy too ask a definite questions about one person or family group
if a webmaster needing help with code gives a valid url
he may get help in minutes - but so often people describe a problem
generally rather than define it
the only dumb question is the one you did not ask :-)
if you give the url of the pages you want to see
one of use will have a look and see if he has the same fault
ancestry.com is never sporadic
when they rebuild part of their server pool you always get an elegant
404 apologising and ith a charming old photo
I seem to remember talk 200 servers and 6 terabytes of data
typos abound but with experience we know how to overcome most of those

Sounds like you are going to the Ancestry site but not signing in under
your account. I sometimes do that and get the situation you describe.

On any Ancestry page, you should see, up near the top on the right side:
Welcome, [ ] Log Out Upgrade My Account Help
except rather than the brackets, your "username" should appear. If it
doesnt, you'll
need to sign in and provide your password before you can access the images
using
your subscription.

Yes, my user name is there. This is my home computer and nobody else uses
it so I don't log off.

I had signed in. My name was in the upper right corner. Now it gets even
sillier. Sometimes I get in and others I don't. And I never rebooted or
resigned in. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
