George Henry Thompson (United Kingdom)

Trying to find information on George Henry Thompson born 1817 in
Plymouth Devon or possibly Oldham Lancs he posted both as birthplaces
in 1851 & 1861 census. Married to Mary also born 1817 with children
Walter 1847, Mary1849, Emma 1853, Henry1855, Nathan1857 & Elizabeth
1859 all born in Oldham.

Just to say I looked at census and hard to make sense of his places of
birth.
They are all deliberate by the enumerator not ditto from someone else.
The Lees of 1891 seems to be precise so perhaps Devon was a mistake.
and they are in Oldham so likely not migrants but Devon people did
travel to find work.
Could not see him in 1871 and 1841 too many possibles
