LRESA500...
I just read Ancestry's Terms and Conditions (updated 21 Sep 2005)
trying to find some sliver of hope that I could buy my son a year's
subscription and pay by check. No way am I giving out CC info for a
gift subscription.

Dennis...
I thought I had heard at one time that you could pay by check. It just takes a
few more days for them to get the check and process it. You may want to call
them and ask.

My credit card company now offers temporary credit card numbers (offhand I
don't remember the term they use). You can get one, use it one time for a
single internet transaction, and then nothing else can be charged against that
number. You might want to look into this.

Chris Watts...
..and they want that for FREE Trials as well

I hope everyone who is interested in subscribing will take the time to
read the Terms and Conditions. It makes Ancestry sound like a bunch of
assholes but it's there in black & white with a take it or leave it
attitude.

Chris Watts...
That seems to be a widely held view of ance$try.con although to be fair they
have improved over the years!
