Tamblyne...
I lost this family for 1860. I found them in Nodaway Co., Missouri in
1850 and in 1870 they are in Sherman Twp., DeKalb Co., Missouri.

As late as Mar of 1860, one of their sons was married in Nodaway Co.,
so I really concentrated my search there, but still haven't found them.

I've tried every name spelling variation I can think of (HeritageQuest
index), as well as looking for other family members and neighbors (and
couldn't find them either!), but I'm not coming up with anything. I
didn't see them in Ancestry's index, either. And I've run out of ideas.

Robert Heiling...
Just for the record and so that you know that it's been done, I did
searches in the 1860 with HQ for all "John"'s in Missouri, born in
Kentucky, 51-60, white, male and looked for likely surnames and then
again when sorted by age. I saw nothing that would be a hit.

Tamblyne...
Yup, I tried that, too -- with all the son's and the wife, also.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Thanks for trying.

Any help would be appreciated.
