I've failed finding the exact arrival date to the US for following
person:
Sofia (or Sophia) Svensson born in Nyed parish, V=E4rmland, Sweden on
the 16th of January 1855. She decided to move from Karlstad and
emigrate to America on the 6th of May in 1887. From Census sources I
have found that she did arrive in 1887 but I don't know the exact date
and with wich ship.
She must have come to the US from late May (if we are optimistic) to
late December. In 1900 Census she says, maybe by mistake, that she was
born in 1858.
I haven't found her in 1890 Census.

Thank you Mike,
I also found this data, but she had added 3 years to her real age and
there was a considerable time from May to December, so I mistrusted a
little.

age. I will take this record for at least 80 % true and go further and
see how she spent the time between leaving her home in Karlstad till
the departure of Ems.

I would really appreciate if any genealogist could help me solving my
problems?

Thank you in advance

You probably won't find anything for the 1890 census. Most of those records
burned.

Where do you believe your Sophia lived? I found a Sophia Swenson in Chicago
in the 1900 census born in Jan 1855.

Hello Kevin,
My Sophia was married to John Carlson in 1890 and can be found in the
1900 census. Your Sophia is probably another person. Or did she have
two identities?
Thanks anyhow. Now I know that there is no idea to search to deep into
1890 census.
