The honeymoon is over!!

Not so long ago they would have jumped at the chance to spend time alone
together - but that was before they got married.

After a cruise around the Western Isles, the Duchess of Cornwall quite
literally abandoned ship, leaving Prince Charles to go it alone.

Charles and Camilla had joined the Queen on Wednesday for part of her
eight-day 80th birthday cruise, which ended on Saturday.

However, the Duchess had been expected to remain on board with her husband
to make the trip round the northern tip of Scotland to Scrabster, where the
former ferry was due to dock.

But as the Queen, Prince Philip and other members of the Royal Family
trooped off the Hebridean Princess, now a small luxury cruise ship, Camilla
was right behind them.

The Duchess, 58, had only been on board the vessel for three days, and
whether she had simply had enough of the sea - or Charles - was not
immediately clear.

Breton...
Comment: What is clear is the the Mail on Sunday had NO IDEA why HRH
left the vessel, and decided to editorialize these two possible
reasons, to stir up some trouble.

Unable to disguise his anger, the Prince stomped back on board, while
courtiers anxiously stressed that the parting, at Stornoway on the Isle of
Lewis, was simply due to Camilla's lack of sea legs.

A Royal insider said: "Camilla is a poor sailor."

But according to witnesses, Charles was unhappy at their premature parting.

Recently, the Duchess has been accused of not overburdening herself with
Royal duties since she was ennobled.

Breton...
This statement seems to be irrelevant. According to the PoW web site,
Camilla is not schedule for any Royal duties until August 6 in
Caithness, unveiling a memorial to the Queen Mother on that date, with
Charles.

She has accompanied her husband on only half of his engagements.

Breton...
Again, probably irrelevant. Perhaps she wasn't involved in them.

The insider added: "Prince Charles did look somewhat disgruntled yesterday
when he took leave of his wife on the stern of the Hebridean Princess."

Breton...
There could have been any number of reasons for this. Maybe he thought
the vessel's master did a poor job of docking it.

Whatever is the case, should we start counting the days they are apart?

yD...
LOL We can divide it by the cost of the upgrades in security to her
house and Charles could take it out of her allowance. By gum, she'd
stay home if she had to pay for all the walking out and staying out
that she does :)
But I jest, we all know she's not a drain on the British taxpayer,
she's an independent woman who kept her own home and can pay for
herself from whatever source her money came or comes from.

However, while the Pentland Firth may be one of the most notorious stretches
of water in the British Isles, the weather forecasters were predicting a
smooth passage for Prince Charles's solo journey to Scrabster, which is a
20-minute drive from the Castle of Mey, the late Queen Mother's beloved
Scottish home in Caithness.

The Duchess is due to fly back to Scotland later in the week to rejoin the
Prince at the Castle of Mey for five days. They will then drive to their
Scottish home, Birkdale, on Royal Deeside.

However, Royal observers told The Mail on Sunday that Camilla is desperate
to get back to her "own" home - the £850,000 Raymill House, in Wiltshire,
which she has retained since marrying the Prince 15 months ago.
