Can't Name This Tune

I was driving home from the train last night and an oldie was playing
that I remembered as one of my favorites. I've been raking my brain to
remember the song's name and the artist but find myself stumpted. He
are some of the lyrics (may be out of order). Please HELP, this is
driving me nuts!
